Collection: Abel Schlicht

Abel Schlicht (1754-1826) was a German artist, architect, and theater painter born in Mannheim. He also worked as a steel engraver, served as an electoral court architect in Mannheim, and held a professorship at the Düsseldorf Academy.

As a theater painter, Schlicht created stage designs, such as the "Subterranean Jail for the Stage" in 1788. His diverse career combined practical architectural roles with artistic production in painting and engraving.
