Abraham Danielsz. Hondius, a Dutch Golden Age painter, etcher, and draftsman, was born around 1631. He was active in the Netherlands and later in England, working in London until his death in 1691.

Hondius specialized in animal depictions, particularly hunting scenes and animal fights. His oeuvre also includes landscapes, military genre scenes, religious subjects, portraits, and still lifes.
