Alexander Kanoldt (1881-1939) was a German painter born in Karlsruhe who later became a professor at the Kunstakademie in Berlin. He was a magic realist painter and an artist of the New Objectivity. He was a member of a group that included Adolf Erbslöh, Alfred Kubin, Marianne von Werefkin, and Karl Hofer.
Kanoldt's artistic group exhibited works that reflected the styles of Jugendstil and Fauvism. His paintings, such as Mädchenkopf II (1927), exemplify his magic realist approach within the New Objectivity movement.
