Collection: Antonio Mancini
Antonio Mancini (1852-1930) was an Italian painter who studied in Naples. In 1870, he gained recognition at the Paris Salon, where he exhibited two paintings. Three years later, he opened a studio in Rome. His early work is associated with the Macchiaioli movement in Italy.
Mancini later developed a realistic style with modernist and Impressionist influences. The Victoria and Albert Museum holds his work A portrait of a young woman, dated between 1860 and 1869. The Art Institute of Chicago collection includes his painting Resting, created around 1887.
