Collection: Baltazar de Echave Ibia

Baltazar de Echave Ibia was a Mexican painter, known as "El Mozo" and "El Echave de los Azules." He was the second member of the Echave family to pursue painting, following his father, Baltasar de Echave Orio.

Art historian Manuel Toussaint gave him the nickname "El Echave de los Azules" for his distinctive chromatic use of a palette rich in blue tones. His work includes The Crucifixion (1627).
