Collection: Blaise Alexandre Desgoffe
Blaise Alexandre Desgoffe (1830–1901) was a French painter born in Paris. He trained under Hippolyte Flandrin and specialized in meticulously finished still-life paintings. Desgoffe was the nephew of the painter Alexandre Desgoffe and the father of the painter Jules Desgoffe.
Desgoffe exhibited his work at the Paris Salon from 1857 to 1882, where he received a third-class medal in 1861 and a second-class medal in 1863. His career was further marked by his appointment as a Chevalier of the Légion d'honneur in 1878 and a silver medal at the Exposition Universelle of 1900.
