Collection: Christen Dalsgaard

Christen Dalsgaard (1824-1907) was a Danish painter and a professor at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. He trained under Christoffer Wilhelm Eckersberg, emerging in the mid-19th century Danish art scene. Born in Skive, Jutland, he later died in Sorø, Sjælland.

Dalsgaard painted landscapes and interiors, focusing on rural scenes and daily Danish life. His work aligns with national romantic realism, depicting contemporary Danish culture through genre scenes and detailed portrayals of local environments.
