Collection: Christoffel van den Berghe

Christoffel van den Berghe (c. 1590, Antwerp – c. 1645, Middelburg) was a Flemish-born Dutch Golden Age painter. He was active primarily in the Netherlands, particularly in Middelburg, and is identified by his monogram CvB. His oeuvre encompasses both landscapes and flower still lifes, contributing to the diverse artistic output of the period.

Little is known with certainty about van den Berghe's life. His artistic identity was only firmly established in the 1950s, a development that brought his previously obscure body of work into greater art historical focus. He worked as a painter, producing compositions that often featured detailed floral arrangements and expansive landscapes.
