Collection: Corrado Giaquinto

Corrado Giaquinto (1703-1766) was an Italian Rococo painter who worked in Naples, Rome, Turin, and Madrid. He served as court painter in Madrid and was director of the Royal San Fernando Academy from 1753 to 1762.

Giaquinto painted both oil on canvas works and frescoes, often creating ceiling designs. His work, such as Old Testament Figures in Paradise (1751–60), reflects the Rococo style he developed, particularly during his time as court painter in Madrid.
