Collection: Edward Redfield

Edward Willis Redfield (1869–1965) was an American Impressionist landscape painter, born in Bridgeville, Delaware. He became a member of the influential art colony at New Hope, Pennsylvania. His artistic practice aligned with Impressionism, focusing on capturing the transient effects of light and atmosphere in his outdoor scenes.

Redfield is recognized for his impressionist scenes, particularly those depicting the New Hope area, often featuring snow-covered countryside. During his summers, he worked in Boothbay Harbor, Maine, where he interpreted the local coastline and frequently painted Monhegan Island. His oeuvre includes both winter landscapes and spring scenes.
