Collection: Egron Lundgren

Egron Sellif Lundgren (1815–1875) was a Swedish painter and author. He specialized in watercolors. After studies in Stockholm and Paris, Lundgren resided in Italy, Spain, and England between 1841 and 1870. He also undertook extensive travels, including a journey to India.

Lundgren's watercolor practice frequently depicted subjects from his travels. His works include "Head of an Egyptian girl" (ca. 1860s) and "A Gateway in Cairo" (1861-1862), which exemplify his focus on Egyptian scenes and figures. He also created "Boys studying the Koran" (ca. 1862).
