Collection: Ernesto de la Cárcova

Ernesto de la Cárcova (1866–1927) was an Argentine painter born in Buenos Aires. He was associated with the Realist school. De la Cárcova served as the first director of the National Academy of Fine Arts and founded the Superior School of Fine Arts.

The Superior School of Fine Arts was named after de la Cárcova one year after his death. Its facilities now house the Museum of Casts and Comparative Sculpture.
