Ernesto Icaza Sánchez (1866 –1935) was a Mexican painter and an ambitious horse rider. He specialized in portraiture and animal painting, becoming particularly recognized for his numerous oil paintings depicting horses and riders. This focus earned him the moniker "charro pintor."

Icaza's artistic practice centered on equestrian themes, producing a substantial body of oil paintings that explored the dynamic between horses and their riders. He was also a portraitist.
