Collection: Erulo Eroli

Erulo Eroli (1854–1916) was an Italian painter born in Rome. He received his initial training at the Ospizio di San Michele in Rome under Professor Ceccarini.

Eroli's oeuvre included portraits, religious subjects, and historical scenes. He received awards from his institute and the Ministry of Public Education for works such as Studio di un testa and Return to his family of a soldier wounded for his family. His painting of a Bacchante earned a silver medal from the Society of the Fine Arts in Rome. He also produced the historical work La Palestro a Lissa, exhibited at the 1883 Exposition in Rome, which depicted an episode from an 1866 naval battle.
