Johann Joseph Eugene von Guérard (1811–1901) was an Austrian-born painter, active in Australia from 1852 to 1882. Born in Vienna and dying in London, he specialized in landscape painting. His work followed the tradition of the Düsseldorf school of painting, aligning with the Romantic movement.
Von Guérard's artistic practice focused on finely detailed landscapes. During his time in Australia, he depicted the country's scenery, contributing to the development of Australian landscape art. He also taught Australian painters.
His works are held in Australia's major public galleries, where he is often referred to as Eugene von Guerard.
