Collection: Ferenc Helbing

Ferenc Helbing (1870-1958) was a Hungarian graphic artist and painter, born in Érsekújvár, Kingdom of Hungary. He began his career as a lithographer, subsequently studying applied graphics and applied arts. He later became a printing manager and taught at the College of Applied Graphics from 1906, then at the College of Applied Arts from 1910, where he served as manager until 1936.

Helbing undertook pioneering work in Hungarian commercial graphics. He designed numerous Hungarian banknotes and created posters, stamps, book illustrations, glass paintings, and murals, including those at the Palace Hotel in Lillafüred. He received several awards in applied arts and graphics competitions.
