Fortunato Depero (1892-1960) was an Italian Futurist painter, writer, and sculptor. Born in Fondo, Trentin, and dying in Rovereto, he also worked as a graphic designer, illustrator, scenographer, and costume designer. He was a signatory of the Aeropainting manifesto, representing the second wave of Italian Futurism.
Depero's artistic output spanned various media, including painting, sculpture, and graphic design. He applied his Futurist principles to scenography and costume design for theatrical productions. His commercial work includes the enduring design for the Campari Soda bottle.
Depero's contributions to the Aeropainting manifesto solidified his place within the later developments of Futurism. His diverse practice helped expand the movement's reach into commercial and applied arts.
