Collection: Francisco Lameyer y Berenguer
Francisco Lameyer y Berenguer (1825–1877) was a Spanish painter, engraver, draftsman, and illustrator. Active during the Romantic era, he also served as a soldier and traveler. Lameyer began his career illustrating literary works, notably Los españoles pintados por sí mismos, demonstrating his early engagement with genre subjects.
His early genre paintings exhibited a strong stylistic affinity with Francisco Goya. Later in his career, Lameyer developed an Orientalist approach, drawing inspiration from the works of Eugène Delacroix, reflecting a shift in his thematic interests.
