Collection: Frantisek Dvorak

František Dvořák, born Bruner and also known as Franz Dvorak, was a Czech painter. He was born on November 14, 1862, in Přelouč and died on June 7, 1927, in Prague. His work, particularly in the 1910s and 1920s, engaged with emerging abstract tendencies, reflecting an interest in modern European art movements.

Dvořák's artistic output included both landscape and abstract compositions. Works such as Abstract Landscape (1913) demonstrate his early exploration of non-representational forms. His Orphist Composition with Disks (1927/29) exemplifies his engagement with abstract forms and color, while Reminiscence of a Cathedral (1920/23) suggests an interest in architectural or spiritual themes rendered through an abstract visual language.
