Georg Janny (1864
–1935) was an Austrian painter and set designer, born and active in Vienna. He initially concentrated on painting theater backdrops, a practice that established his early career in the city's vibrant theatrical scene.
Janny's artistic output encompassed landscape, figure painting, and set design. He collaborated with Karl Schüller on the iron curtain for the Vienna Volksoper. Later in his career, Janny transitioned to producing oil paintings on canvas, expanding his practice beyond theatrical commissions.
