George de Forest Brush (1855
–1941) was an American painter born in Shelbyville, Tennessee, and died in Hanover, New Hampshire. He developed a practice centered on penetrating representations of family groups.
Brush's artistic focus was on these intimate portrayals. In addition to his painting, he collaborated with the artist Abbott H. Thayer on military camouflage. His wife, Mary Taylor (Whelpley) Brush, and their son, Gerome Brush, also contributed to this work.
