Collection: George Roux
George Roux (1853–1929) was a French artist and book illustrator, born in Ganges and active in Paris and Versailles. He is primarily recognized for his extensive contributions to the *Les voyages extraordinaires* series, illustrating the science-fiction novels of Jules Verne.
Roux became the second most prolific illustrator of Verne's works, following Léon Benett, providing drawings for 22 novels published by Pierre-Jules Hetzel. His first contribution was for *L’Épave du Cynthia* (1885), and his last for *L'Étonnante aventure de la mission Barsac* (1919). He also illustrated André Laurie's *Axel Ebersen, the Graduate of Upsala*.
