Collection: Gueorgui Nisski

Gueorgui Nisski (1903-1987) was a Soviet painter born in Novobelitsa, Russian Empire, and later based in Moscow. He was a founder of the Severe Style, a movement within Soviet art. Nisski became a corresponding member of the USSR Academy of Arts in 1954 and a full member in 1958.

Nisski painted mainly industrial landscapes, aligning with the Socialist Realism movement. His work contributed to the development of the Severe Style in Soviet painting.
