Collection: Henri Bellery-Desfontaines

Henri Bellery-Desfontaines (1867–1909) was a French multidisciplinary artist, painter, and designer of the Art Nouveau period. Born in Paris, he also worked as an architect, engraver, lithographer, and illustrator. His practice encompassed various decorative arts, including posters, tapestries, and furniture design.

Bellery-Desfontaines's artistic output included designs for bank notes and typography, notably creating the Bellery-Desfontaines-large and Bellery-Desfontaines-étroit typefaces. His lithographic work appeared in publications such as L'Estampe Moderne and included pieces like L'Énigme (1898). He also designed for events, as seen in his work for the Exposition Universelle Liège (1905).
