Collection: Henri Joseph Van Blarenberghe

Henri-Joseph Van Blarenberghe, a French painter, was born in Lille on October 10, 1741, and died in the same city on December 1, 1826. He was the son of Louis-Nicolas van Blarenberghe, also a painter, and continued a family tradition that included his grandfather, Hendrick Van Blarenberghe.

Van Blarenberghe worked as a miniaturist, often alongside his father, at the Palace of Versailles. They created detailed miniature landscapes and were particularly recognized for their paintings adorning snuffboxes for the era's high society. Examples of his miniature landscapes include works from around 1770 and 1775, as well as "The Champs-Elysées" (1775).
