Collection: James Wyatt

James Wyatt (1746 –1813) was an English architect born in Burton Constable, Staffordshire. He worked in both neoclassical and neo-Gothic styles, often considered a rival to Robert Adam. Wyatt was elected to the Royal Academy of Arts in 1785.

Wyatt designed Romantic country houses, with his most notable work being the Gothic Revival Fonthill Abbey. He served as president of the Royal Academy of Arts from 1805 to 1806.
