Jean-Baptiste Regnault (1754–1829) was a French Neoclassical painter, born in Paris. He received his training under Joseph-Marie Vien and became a significant figure in the Parisian art scene during the late 18th and early 19th centuries.

Regnault specialized in history painting, mythological scenes, and portraits, often imbuing his compositions with a sense of classical grace. His oeuvre includes works such as *Achilles and Chiron* (1783), which demonstrates his command of academic figuration, and *Cupid and Psyche* (1828), a mythological subject executed with Neoclassical precision. He also produced portraits, reflecting the breadth of his practice.

Regnault maintained a teaching studio in Paris that rivaled the influence of Jacques-Louis David's atelier, contributing to the dissemination of Neoclassical principles. He was elevated to the rank of Baron during the Napoleonic Empire, acknowledging his artistic standing.
