John Faed (1819–1902) was a Scottish painter who specialized in genre, history, and miniature painting. Born on August 31, 1819, he pursued a career that spanned several decades, contributing to the Scottish art scene until his death on October 22, 1902.
Faed's historical narratives include Expulsion of Adam and Eve from the 1880s and Hamlet and His Father's Ghost. His genre scenes often depicted domestic or literary subjects, exemplified by The Great Hall at Haddon (1860) and Contemplation (Evangeline) (1863).
He was the brother of fellow painter Thomas Faed.
