Simeon Marcus Larson (1825–1864) was a Swedish landscape painter born in Åtvidaberg, Östergötland. He trained within the Düsseldorf School, a center for German Romanticism, and is associated with the Romantic movement.
Larson's paintings often depicted dramatic natural scenes, focusing on rivers under violent skies, shipwrecks in storms, and wild forest landscapes with roaring rapids in moonlight. His work conveyed romantic and dynamic qualities, exemplified by Haaksirikko Ruotsin rannikolla (Shipwreck on the Swedish Coast, 1853) and Vesiputous Smålandissa (Waterfall in Småland). He studied under V. Melbyen and resided in Düsseldorf from 1852 to 1857, later traveling to Finland, St. Petersburg, and London.
