Collection: Michel Bruno Bellengé
Michel-Bruno Bellengé (1726–1793) was a French painter. He received his early training at the Rouen School, founded by Jean-Baptiste Descamps, where he earned three awards between 1748 and 1751. He was later admitted to the Rouen Academy of Arts in 1764, following a recommendation from Jean-Baptiste-Siméon Chardin.
Bellengé specialized in painting flowers on enamel, as well as depictions of vegetables and fruits. He contributed to the ceiling decoration of La Celle-Saint-Cloud, working under the direction of Jean-Baptiste Marie Pierre, and also collaborated with Jean-Baptiste-Henri Deshays. Later in his career, he served as director of the Turkey carpet factory in Trocadéro, where he created the designs for tapestries intended for the choir of Notre Dame, now housed in The Louvre.
