Oscar Florianus Bluemner, born Friedrich Julius Oskar Blümner in Prussia on June 21, 1867, became an American Modernist painter. After 1933, he adopted the name Oscar Florianus Bluemner. He died on January 12, 1938.

Bluemner developed a distinctive modernist style, often depicting simplified buildings and landscapes with intense color schemes. His work includes urban scenes such as Richmond Street (1902) and natural vistas like Sketch for 'Heaving Sea,' Providence, Rhode Island Bay (1924), alongside architectural studies such as Fisherman's Cottage (1906).
