Collection: Cornelis Cornelisz van Haarlem

Cornelis Corneliszoon van Haarlem was a Dutch Golden Age painter and draughtsman, one of the leading Northern Mannerist artists in the Netherlands, and an important forerunner of Frans Hals as a portraitist.

Pieter Pietersz the Elder and Gillis Coignet taught him. His best-known works include The Massacre of the Innocents, Portrait of Dirck Volkertsz Coornhert, Poet, Philosopher and Engraver, and A Monk With a Beguine. He is identified with Mannerism. His oeuvre falls under Renaissance.
