Dominique Louis Féréol Papety (1815–1849) was a French painter born and deceased in Marseille. He is identified as an early adherent of the Néo-Grec movement, a style that drew inspiration from classical antiquity. His work also encompassed elements of both Neoclassicism and Romanticism, reflecting the artistic currents of his era.
Papety's artistic output primarily consisted of canvases and drawings that explored Greek themes. These subjects spanned both Classical antiquity and contemporary Greek life, demonstrating a consistent engagement with Hellenic culture. This focus on Greek motifs became a distinguishing characteristic of his oeuvre within the Néo-Grec aesthetic.
